Welcome

We are the Carteret Historical Committee located in Carteret, NJ. Our goal is to collect and maintain documents, artifacts and other items of historical significance. Promote an appreciation for the history of the Borough for the education, pleasure and welfare of the residents. Foster the historic heritage of the Borough by encouraging the preservation of resources within the Borough which reflect elements of its cultural, social, economic and architectural history. Attempt to compile a photographic history of the Borough. Seek grants and outside funding to enhance history related activities and programs within the Borough. Carry out such other advisory, educational and informational functions as will promote the historic preservation in the Borough.
